Middle and High School Parent Information:

Safe to School Calls - If your child is going to be absent please call me at 315-649-2417 Ext: 108 and leave a message on my voice mail. If I don't receive a call then I will be calling to confirm that you are aware your child is not in school. We still need a written excuse for any day your child is absent.

Physicals - New York State requires a physical for grades 7, 9, and 11 and all new students. If your child is planning to play sports they will need a new physical each school year. We are also required to have a health update for each sport they play during the year. Dr. Gianfagna is our school physician and provides physicals at school at no charge. You may choose to have your child's physical done by your own physician, I will be happy to send a physical form home for you at your request.

Screenings - Your child will be screened for vision, hearing, height, weight, muscle balance, color vision and near vision as required by New York State. If your child has problems during any screening I will call you and send a referral letter home to be completed by your child's doctor. Beginning September 2009 New York State is requiring a BMI (body mass index) report for grades 7, 9, 11, and new students. You may choose not to have your child's data included in the state report (no identifying information is in the report). I will be sending forms home in September for you to sign if you don't want their statistics included.
