PATRICIA GIBBONS, SUPERINTENDENT
Welcome and thank you for visiting the Lyme Central School website. Lyme Central School is a wonderful school district and I am proud and honored to lead this district as the Superintendent of Schools. Our school has a rich history of providing excellent learning opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom setting that allow our students to learn, lead, grow, and flourish.
We firmly believe in our school motto:
Preparing Today’s Students to be Tomorrow’s Citizens.
We update our website with news, briefs, and pictures of our students and staff working and playing hard so please feel free to stop back often to check out the latest happenings and to catch a glimpse of our students engaged in the many activities we offer here at Lyme Central.
While being the Superintendent is very rewarding, I have enjoyed an exciting career in public education for 30 years and counting. My classroom or teaching experience began in 1993 as a BOCES special education teacher working within the Watertown Central School District. I taught students from area districts with the most severe behavioral needs. After a decade in the classroom, I completed my CAS (Certificate of Advanced Study) through Oswego and was fortunate enough to complete a full year, full-time Administrative internship right here at Lyme Central School as an Assistant Principal/Special Education Director. I briefly spent a few years as the Building Principal in a neighboring district, only to jump at the chance to return to the district where my administrative career began. Upon my return to Lyme, I served in several different roles: High School Principal, the Director of Pupil Services, and Assistant Superintendent. I am thankful every day that I made the decision to return to Lyme Central School.
I have served under some excellent Superintendents who have molded me into the leader I am today. I am fortunate to work alongside a talented group of teachers, support staff, faculty, and the Board of Education in a district where parents and community members work collaboratively to support our school. It has been and continues to be a very rewarding career and I am very proud to be serving this district.
It is a great day to be a Lyme Laker!
