NOMINATING PETITIONS FOR BOARD OF EDUCATION
The Lyme Central School District will hold its Annual Budget vote and Board of Education election on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM. The Lyme Central School District will hold an election for one (1) five-year vacancy on the seven-member board.
The following Board Members’ term will expire on June 30, 2026:
Mr. Ray McIntosh, Position #5
Nominating petitions may be obtained from the District Office – 11868 Academy Street, Chaumont, NY, Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM, and are available as of March 1, 2026. All nominating petitions must be filed with the District Clerk, no later than 4:00 PM on Monday, April 20, 2026. All nominating petitions must contain a minimum of 25 signatures of qualified voters of the Lyme Central School District.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP ON THE BOARD OF EDUCATION
1. Must be able to read and write
2. Must be a qualified voter of the district
3. Must have been a resident of the district for at least one year prior to election
4. Not more than one family member of the same household shall be a member of the Board
5. Cannot be an employee of the Lyme Central School District
QUALIFICATIONS FOR VOTERS
1. A citizen of the United States of America
2. Eighteen years of age
3. A resident of the District for a period of thirty days in advance, as required by law
4. No person shall have the right to register for, or vote at any school meeting or election who would not be qualified to register for or vote at an election in accordance with the provisions of Section 5-106 of the Election Law
5. Do not need to be a taxpayer to vote or to be a candidate
