Title IX Notice

The Lyme Central School District does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its education program and activities. This nondiscrimination policy applies to both the admission of students and their access to educational programs and activities, and to the employment of stuff by the district. The district is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of sex by the Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1975, as well as other state and federal laws. If you have a question about the application of Title IX to the District, you may direct that question to the District’s Title IX Coordinator or the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights of the United States Department of Education, or to both.

The district maintains a grievance procedure to receive reports of conduct that might be sexual harassment. When the District received a report or a formal complaint describing conduct that might be sexual harassment, it will investigate in a timely manner and will make a determination whether the conduct violated the district’s policy against sex discrimination, or any other District rules, such as the Code of Conduct. To report conduct that might be sexual harassment, or to make a formal complaint of conduct that might be sexual harassment, you may:

  • Contact the District’s Title IX Coordinator, as described below;
  • Use the incident reporting form available online with the district’s politics; or
  • If the person is affected by the questionable conduct is a student, use the District’s form for reporting bullying or harassment, located on the home page.
