    Mr. Gary Nicholson

Lyme Central School Board of Education President

    Dear LCS Staff and Friends,

I write to you today with a very heavy heart.  I’m deeply saddened to share that I received notification early this morning from Mr. Nicholson’s family, that Gary passed away at his home. His family was with him.

Mr. Nicholson was a very special man. He had an amazing knowledge base and profound understanding of the work we do in education stemming from not only his many years as a Board Member, but also from his experiences as a teacher, a principal, and even as a Superintendent. He was always available as a sounding board and often served as a mentor especially during those times when difficult decisions had to be made, and were likely to be unpopular. He had the ability to see all sides of a situation and was always eager to find solutions rather than focusing on the problems. I remain honored to have worked with and for such a giving, honest and ethical man who above all loved his family, our school district and community, our students and those who work and served here. He will be greatly missed.

    Cammy J. Morrison, Superintendent
